Overview of course
This one day course delves in to Employment Law in the real world of Line Manager, lead by an experienced Associate Tutor with longstanding HR Director status, legal qualifications, Employment Tribunal and Line Management Experience.
The course will run from 9am - 12.30pm at West Suffolk College, University and Professional Development Centre, Bury St Edmunds.

- How to avoid or minimise legal and reputational damage and poor staff morale in relation to the main employment law risk areas
Main Risk Areas and how to minimise problems but still get results
- Discrimination
- Pre-employment
- Ensuring satisfactory job performance - expectations
- Ensuring consistent and appropriate behaviours - boundaries
- Attendance and absence
- Changing terms and conditions including tasks and work location
- Handing redundancies
- Ensuring follow ACAS codes and GDPR
- Failing to nip in the bud or avoiding conflict
- Sacking staff by accident - ie constructive dismissal claims.
