This is a 12-week (approx. 120 hours) Online Self-Study qualification course. It can be started anytime and accessed (via a learning portal) at times/days to suit you.

Entry requirements
Learners must meet the following eligibility criteria in order to access this course:
· Be aged 19+ on the 31/08/2024
· Live in the UK for 3 years/live in UK from EEA for 3 years, or have *pre-settlement or *Settled status from the Home Office (*proof required)
· Due to Government funding criteria, we are unable to accept learners who live in London, Scotland, Wales, N Ireland, Ireland or a devolved postcode areas. Please check with us if you are unsure.

What you'll learn (core modules)
In this course, you will learn the types, signs and indicators of addiction. You will learn about the risk factors which may contribute to developing an addiction, and actions that can be taken in response to concerns about addiction, within the boundaries of confidentiality.
This course will also enable you to understand the treatments available for different types of addiction and the barriers that may prevent individuals from seeking treatment. You will also understand transitional care from treatment to recovery.

- Undertanding addiction
- Understanding the treatment and transitional care for addiciton
- Understanding support available for recovery and rehabilitaion
- Understanding post-addiciton recovery and relapse preventions
How will I be assessed?
The course includes online learning materials in the form of interactive resources and flipbooks, a personalised login to access the online learning portal will be given on enrolment.
You will be required to work through a series of tasks and activities designed to reinforce the learning process and demonstrate your knowledge. Dedicated tutors will provide written feedback on the assessments and ongoing remote support where required.
Where is the course delivered? (facilities/classrooms)
All learning will be online (self-study) and can be completed at a time that suits without the need to attend college.

Once this is done, we will send information on how to access the learning portal.
You can only apply for one course at a time however upon completion you can enrol on a further 2 courses per academic year.
