Advice & Help Centre

The training, the talent, the commitment and above all the results demonstrate the effectiveness of Apprenticeships in recruiting new people to any industry.

Continued investment in developing apprenticeships in recent years has created programmes of high quality training aligned with business needs and objectives throughout the economy.

Today’s apprenticeship programmes are more relevant and more effective than in the past. That’s partly a consequence of closer collaboration between colleges and employers. Working together on designing training objectives and goals leads to more directly applicable experience and knowledge. The end result is better equipped employees, ready to take the business forward.

West Suffolk College is active in developing successful apprenticeships with regional employers, many of whom have close ties with the college. Its performance as a training provider is measured in the success of its apprentices, who in 2016 were overall performing 10% above the national achievement rate.

While designing the training to meet the needs of your business is probably the vital part of any apprenticeship, not far behind is finding appropriately talented and motivated individuals to take up the offer.

There too, West Suffolk College supports your business. The College consults with you to develop your ideas of what an apprentice could do for the business, helping to design the vacancy in a way that will appeal most directly to the ideal candidates.

The College is also able to leverage local and national media to advertise vacancies. It uses the national ‘Find an Apprenticeship’ service, the West Suffolk College web channel and social media channels, in addition to local schools, job centres, and other local media.

If you are thinking about the possibilities of hiring an apprentice to your business, please speak to us for further information on how West Suffolk College can help.
