About the course
The qualification is Pearson Edexcel Level 3 Advanced GCSE in Mathematics.
This is the first year of A Level Maths known as AS or A1
Entry requirements
GCSE grade 6 or above desirable (new grade system from 2015)
Grade B or above (old grade system, A-E) or equivalent qualification
We will also conduct an initial assessment to check students knowledge

What you'll learn (core modules)
The examination will be in May/June
Paper 1: Pure Mathematics
Paper 2: Pure Mathematics
Paper 3: Statistics and Mechanics
The assessments are two hours each.
The assessments are out of 100 marks.
Calculators can be used in assessments.
How will I be assessed?
Class is delivered at the University Studies Building (STEM) on Western Way. IP33 3SP.
The class will run once a week for 3 hours 6-9pm alternating between online and face to face delivery.
Where will this course take me?
A-levels mathematical studies can lead to related degree courses in economics, architecture, engineering and multiple discipline in science. In addition, you will develop a valuable skills of logical thinking, problem solving and decision-making valued by employers across many sectors.
How much will it cost?
The course is free if you are over 19 and do not already hold a Full Level 3 qualification OR if you have a Full Level 3 but earn less than £22,308
If not the cost is £724 fundable through an Advanced Learner Loan.
