Is it for me?
Pathway To Achieve is a two year course designed to be a nurturing environment incorporating structure to facilitate independence and individuality; overcoming barriers, building skills, knowledge, and behaviours to support learner's progression.
Year 1 Aim - to provide a nurturing and highly supportive environment to develop wellbeing and confidence in young people with barriers, building confidence and self esteem and providing a positive educational experience to build upon and encourage college participation and attendance.
Year 2 Aim - To build upon the positive experiences of year 1 and foster continual selfe-steem and confidence development. Encouraging independence and cultivating a desire to increase skills and knowledge and expand the young person's progression possibilities and aspirations. Developing confidence and resilience to enhance the possibility of learners going out to work experience or infilling into vocational areas for a term.
Students are supported by:
- Small class sizes.
- In house teaching of Maths and English
- Classroom engagement with an LSA and tutor.
- A team of dedicated teaching and learning staff.
- Support from the student welfare team
- A programme tailored to meet individual needs.

Assessment
Assessment methods vary and incorporate written work, speaking and listening assessments, and development opportunities through activities and enrichment visits and excursions.
There will be formal assessments to be completed as assignments, exams and verbal assessments. The formal exams are for the core Maths and English elements of the programme.
Further study
Through a person-centred approach to learning, this Pathway ensures that students are continually making progress towards their individual learning, life and work-related goals for the future.
Students may progress onto Further Education study, a Traineeship, an Apprenticeship or employment on completion.
