Timelapse CNC cut out of BUILDtastic Logo

This short video is a demonstration of our computer numerical controlled router (CNC for short) carving out our BUILDtastic logo. It means a computer converts the design produced by Computer Aided Design software (CAD), into numbers. The numbers can be considered to be the coordinates of a graph and the x, y and z axis control the movement of the cutter on a 3D CNC machine. In this way the computer controls the cutting and shaping of the material, allowing it to be machined in three directions.

James Lee Burgess of XLwerks will give an introduction to their new research and development programme construct.XR which launches this week. James Lee will also look at the Mixed Reality site headsets by Trimble and Microsoft, the Hololens 2 which they are using during the project. There will also be footage of the Mixed Reality equipment on use at the first project in Norwich, Digi-Tech Factory for City College Norwich.
