Tom Robinson, 19, from Stowmarket received the highly commended business apprentice of the year.
Tom - who works for the sushi producer called ichiban UK - is currently studying on a level three health and safety apprenticeship.
He said: “I decided to do an Apprenticeship as earning money whilst learning on the job seemed the best option for me. University never appealed to me much as you would be learning for a few years before doing the actual job. I have found the experience very interesting as I’ve been exposed to many aspects of the business which has increased my knowledge and experience over the past few years.
“Since starting, my responsibilities have increased and I believe that when you study an apprenticeship it allows you to gain a more in depth understanding compared to just reading or learning in a classroom.
“Winning this is a reminder that hard work pays off and I take pride in being acknowledged for my achievements in the business realm. I believe winning this award will have a positive impact on my future.
In terms of his future career said: “I hope to become a Health and Safety Manager and perhaps one day starting my own Health and Safety Consultancy.
