Lily Spruce, 19/20, from Framlingham Earl in Norfolk. Lily is studying on a level three electrical installation course and works for Norwich Electrical.
Lily said: “I came to West Suffolk College in July 2021 on a recruitment day, this involved team building exercises and practical tests. I thought the facilities at the college were outstanding and I was thrilled to enrol.
“I chose the apprenticeship route as my strengths lie in the practical side of learning. I have honestly loved the whole experience and have felt well supported throughout. I am gaining a vast range of experience in domestic, commercial and renewable technology.
“I’m buzzing to win this award. It was a total surprise to me, I have studied hard and felt I was doing well - but even so - at times you question yourself. This has given me a real sense of achievement and I will be proud to include this on my CV.”
“In terms of my future, I haven't really thought that far ahead. Longer term perhaps a managerial role will be my aim.”
