Visitors to the Suffolk Show got an eyeful of the Eiffel Tower thanks to a replica of this iconic landmark that was built by students from West Suffolk College.
The impressive four metre structure enabled carpentry learners to showcase their skills in front of thousands of visitors who came along to the 2024 Suffolk Show.
Ryan Fosker, 19, from Hadleigh helped build the tower. The apprentice who works for Taylor Made Joinery said: “I’m really pleased with it. The feedback from the public has been great.
Gav Featherstonr, a lecturer at West Suffolk College said: “It’s come out really well. Maybe we will create the Hollywood sign for the LA Olympics in 2028.”
Visitors also got the chance to enter their dogs into a selfie competition.
The winner will be announced at next month and they will receive a doggy hamper.
West Suffolk College is part of the Eastern Education Group that includes One Sixth Form College and business students from this Ipswich educational facility sold products they had made including jewellery and homemade tiramisu.
And staff also promoted green skills in a separate stand that has been supported by LSIF.
A college spokesperson said: “It was amazing couple of days for the Eastern Education Group at the 2024 Suffolk Show and we are always proud to be part of this fantastic occasion.”
