The next in the successful series of Edmund Lectures at the University of Suffolk at West Suffolk College will look at the many UNESCO World Heritage sites in Greece and the likely impact of Brexit on the Greek economy.
Tourism is an important part of the Greek economy and a counterbalance to the country’s austerity. Professor David Gill, from the University of Suffolk, will discuss the 18 UNESCO cultural and two mixed World Heritage Sites in Greece. They include the Bronze Age site of Mycenae, the classical site of Olympia and the medieval city of Rhodes.
The free lecture, Austerity, Heritage and Tourism, on April 18 at 6pm will review the value of these sites as focal points for tourist activity and the likely impact of Brexit on the Greek tourist economy.
