This course is for students aged 16 to 18 who need to improve their English language skills. The course also improves students' maths, computer and employability skills.
This year-long course will enable you to progress into further education and employment. You will also have fun and work towards a bright and happy future.
What you'll learn
- Full-time course (3 days per week).
- Gain ESOL qualifications, Functional Skills Maths & Personal and Social Skills.
- Full Enrichment Programme including new qualifications in Personal and Social to help living and working in the U.K and learn British values.

Our enthusiastic and inspiring tutors will teach you the skills and self-assurance to live and work in modern Britain in the dynamic environment of the West Suffolk College campus. With a unique 'learning by doing' interactive learning experience, lessons are fun and challenging to motivate you and help you progress quickly.
The course is designed for all non-native speakers of English including Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) and tailored to be inclusive of all cultures and backgrounds.

Assessment
Assessments vary by qualification:
- ESOL qualifications are made up of individual assessments by skill: reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
- Functional Skills Mathematics is assessed as an examination of two parts: calculator and non-calculator paper.
- Personal and Social Skills is a coursework-based assessment.
