Overview of course
West Suffolk College is delighted to announce a new short course in machining which will give delegates a basic knowledge of machining processes, materials and how to operate safely.
The following will be covered:
Machine safety
Machining processes
- Turning to size ( taper )
- Parting off
- Thread cutting internal and external
- Chamfering
- Knurling
Differential materials
- Mild steel / Aluminium / Brass
For those with more experience, machines will be available to complete their own projects under the guidance of a qualified tutor.
Entry requirements
This course is perfect for individuals who wish to understand more about machining or refreshing their knowledge.

You will be required to bring suitable PPE including coverall / safety glasses or goggles and safety boots.
