If English is not your first language and you want to start learning or improving your English, come to our classes. The lessons are suitable for all ages and levels.
Speaking & Listening, Reading and Writing English
Entry requirements
We have ESOL classes for all levels.
If you are interested in joining, email ectc@easterneducationgroup.ac.uk or press apply and we will invite you to come in and speak with a member of the team.
Qualifications
You will work towards a certificate for ESOL Skills for Life (Gateway) starting at your assessed level.
What you'll learn (core modules)
In a small and friendly class, you will have fun working on grammar and vocabulary skills, role play and speaking and listening for everyday situations.
You will have homework to do on your own during the week. You will work towards a Gateway Certificate of Reading and Writing in the first half of the year and Speaking and Listening in the second half of the year.
How will I be assessed?
Assessments will take place in the classroom when your tutor thinks you are ready to pass your current level.
Where is the course delivered? (facilities/classrooms)
Daytime classes take place at The Lighthouse Centre, Ely.
Evening classes take place at Ely College.
Where will this course take me?
When you get to Level 2 you will have the option of starting functional skills in English with a specially trained ESOL tutor. For more information about Functional Skills as an ESOL learner, email ectc@easterneducationgroup.ac.uk
How much will it cost?
This course is fully funded as long as you have lived within an E.U. country for the past 3 years.
