Level 2

Each individual will be fully assessed by our professional tutors and advised which qualification would best suit his/her needs. Student often find attending a functional skills class beneficial, prior to starting GCSE.

If English is not your first language, we will ask you to do an initial ESOL assessment. We offer a range of ESOL classes which may suit your needs better than a GCSE.

This is an intensive GCSE English class designed for learners who already have the basic skills required.  We will ask you to complete a diagnostic assessment at the induction event on Tuesday 22 April and confirm if this course is suitable or whether you would need to first attend either a Functional skills course, English class for speakers of other languages (ESOL) or the 1 year GCSE English course.  At the induction you will also be given some homework to do before the course starts and to prepare for your Speaking and Listening exam which will take place on  Friday 9 May.  The  course will run from 9-22 May (excluding weekends) you will be expected to attend everyday.

Exam dates:

Friday 9 May - Speaking and Listening

Friday 23 May - Paper 1

Friday 6 June - Paper 2
