About the course

This Level 3 qualification develops understanding of early years education and care to be able to support and promote children's early education and development. You will learn to plan and provide effective care, teaching and learning that enables children to progress and prepares them for school, make accurate and productive use of assessment, develop effective and informed practice, safeguard and promote the health, safety and welfare of children.

Entry requirements

  • Age: Learners must have been at least 19 years of age by 31 August (if you are aged 19-23 years you must already hold a full level 2 qualification i.e. 5 x GCSE's grade A*-C / 4-9)
  • Nationality: Learners must have lived within the EU for at least the last 3 years
  • Learners will be required to complete an electronic enrolment form & a student declaration.
  • Learners must complete a maths and English skills checker (initial online course only).
  • Learners will be required to attend an online induction session (initial online course only).
  • You must be working or volunteering in a relevant workplace to allow for observations within the qualification.

Where is the course delivered? (facilities/classrooms)

All learning will be online (self-study) and can be completed at a time that suits without the need to attend college. Dedicated tutors will provide written feedback on the assessments and ongoing remote support where required.

This course is a duration of 13-months and you can enrol at any time. You will have 1-to-1 support with a tutor and observations will be carried out at your place of work.

How much will it cost?

You may be eligible for government funding if:

  • You are aged 19+
  •  you are employed but earning less than £25,000 gross per annum (proof required) 

OR

  • you are in receipt of certain benefits

 

If you are not eligible for funding, the course fee would be payable. This can be paid in instalments, paid via invoice by an Employer or you can apply for an Advance Learner Loan personally.

Non-completion of the course (including the taking of examinations) or failure to attend 3 consecutive sessions without notification or good reason may result in a charge of £185.
