Overview of course
Stress can have a huge impact on daily life, work, and mental well-being, as well as an effect on the people around you. This course covers a range of areas including the definition and causes of stress, the effects stress can have on the body, work related stress, stress management techniques and how to support people experiencing stress.
What will I learn?
Section 1: The definition of stress
Understand the definition of 'stress', the causes and effects of stress. The internal and external demands of stress and how these can be effectively managed.
Section 2: Causes of stress
Examine in greater detail the main causes of stress, stress in the workplace and the general fear of feeling a lack of control over one's own life.
Section 3: The effects of stress
Identify the physical effects of stress, the body's reaction to stress and the possible side-effects it can have on our health.
Section 4: Internal and external demands in daily life that can cause stress
Cover in more detail the internal and external demands present in daily life that can cause and heighten levels of stress.
Section 5: Stress management and support
Learn the steps that can be taken to reduce the demands we experience in life which can lead to stress, including how to manage stress in the workplace and at home.
How Will I Be Assessed:
You will be assessed throughout your study by a series of assessment questions which are built into the course. Your answers are automatically saved and are available for you to revise and edit at any point before submission.

Who is the course for?
To be eligible for this course you must:
Be aged 19+ on the 31st of August 2024
Live in the UK for 3 years/live in UK from EEA or have *Pre-settlement or *Settled status from the Home Office (*proof required)
Due to Government funding criteria, we are unable to accept learners who live in London, Scotland, Wales, N Ireland, Ireland or a devolved postcode areas. Please check with us if you are unsure.
Will I have to provide anything?
This course is a fully online, self-directed, independent study course. Students must have use of a laptop to complete this course and must meet the eligibility criteria.
Am I ready to start?
Providing you meet the entry requirements detailed above this is course is fully funded and there are no fees to pay.
If you are not eligible to be fully funded but would like to complete the course, please contact your local PPL centre and they will be able to advise you on full cost (fee paying) options.
