What will I learn?
Section 1: The meaning of 'depression'
Look at the difference between 'feeling low' and clinical depression, alongside examining the key facts about depression.
Section 2: The cause of depression
Cover the causes and symptoms of depression, looking at individual experiences and case studies from those who have experienced the condition.
Section 3: The effects of psychotic depression
Understand exactly what psychotic depression is. Develop the skills required to identify those suffering from it and begin to explore ways in which to begin dealing with the condition.
Section 4: Effects on the individual, family and friends
Learn and understand how depression affects an individual's life, as well as the lives of their family and close friends.
Section 5: How the demands of daily life can maintain depression
Discover how the demands of modern, daily life can manifest themselves into various forms of depression. Techniques for managing these pressures and demands will be introduced.
Section 6: Depression management and support
Cover the possible treatments and local resources which can help sufferers of depression and psychotic depression.
How Will I Be Assessed:
You will be assessed throughout your study by a series of assessment questions which are built into the course. Your answers are automatically saved and are available for you to revise and edit at any point before submission.

Who is the course for?
To be eligible for this course you must:
Be aged 19+ on the 31st of August 2024
Live in the UK for 3 years/live in UK from EEA or have *Pre-settlement or *Settled status from the Home Office (*proof required)

Will I have to provide anything?
This course is a fully online, self-directed, independent study course. Students must have use of a laptop to complete this course and must meet the eligibility criteria.

Providing you meet the entry requirements detailed above this is course is fully funded and there are no fees to pay.
