Overview of course
Whether you're new to the professional world or want to pivot later in your career, finding the right career opportunities for you can often be a daunting prospect. We live in an age of information at our fingertips which can often lead to hours of job searching and countless application submissions. How do you know what career opportunity is right for you?
This course will enable the learner to examine personal job aspirations and look inwards. Learn how to cultivate trust in future employers by engaging in meaningful career conversations as well as how to list potential career contacts. In the 21st century there are so many ways to find career opportunities, from job fairs, recruiters, job sites and LinkedIn to name a few, it can be hard to cut through the noise. Learners will debate the different approaches to job searching, identify a route that is best for them and create a prioritised list of chosen potential employers that best match their personal values.

Examine your job aspirations by looking inwards

Section 2: Cultivating opportunities
Debate the different approaches to job searching in the 21st century
Create a list of chosen employers that match your values
Section 3: Prioritising targets
Create a list of five companies for whom you can spend time developing a trust-based relationship
How Will I Be Assessed:
You will be assessed throughout your study by a series of assessment questions which are built into the course. Your answers are automatically saved and are available for you to revise and edit at any point before submission.

Who is the course for?
To be eligible for this course you must:
Be aged 19+ on the 31st of August 2024
Live in the UK for 3 years/live in UK from EEA or have *Pre-settlement or *Settled status from the Home Office (*proof required)
Due to Government funding criteria, we are unable to accept learners who live in London, Scotland, Wales, N Ireland, Ireland or a devolved postcode areas. Please check with us if you are unsure.
Will I have to provide anything?
This course is a fully online, self-directed, independent study course. Students must have use of a laptop to complete this course and must meet the eligibility criteria.
Am I ready to start?
Providing you meet the entry requirements detailed above this is course is fully funded and there are no fees to pay.
If you are not eligible to be fully funded but would like to complete the course, please contact your local PPL centre and they will be able to advise you on full cost (fee paying) options.
