This course teaches how to look at our personal behaviours in different situations and why we feel confident or have a lack of confidence.  The course includes examples of low confidence, along with uncomfortable social situations and the reasons for these.  Review examples of behaviour which may be inappropriate in such situations, and how to change attitudes and behaviour to participate more effectively.

You will look at scenarios that cause stress, how to recognise feelings of stress and techniques to reduce it and improve well-being.  How to plan short-term goals, including action plans to meet them, along with how to identify and record achievements, and how goal setting can affect self-confidence.

Whether you're new to the professional world or want to pivot later in your career, finding the right career opportunities for you can often be a daunting prospect.  We live in an age of information at our fingertips which can often lead to hours of job searching and countless application submissions.  How do you know what career opportunity is right for you?

This course will enable the learner to examine personal job aspirations and look inwards.  Learn how to cultivate trust in future employers by engaging in meaningful career conversations as well as how to list potential career contacts.  In the 21st century there are so many ways to find career opportunities, from job fairs, recruiters, job sites and LinkedIn to name a few, it can be hard to cut through the noise.  Learners will debate the different approaches to job searching, identify a route that is best for them and create a prioritised list of chosen potential employers that best match their personal values.

This course teaches how to prepare for an interview.  Topics covered include body language, personal appearance, questions and responses, as well as how to listen effectively in an interview.

You will also learn about speaking and listening skills and asking for further clarification in an interview, as well as asking relevant questions using a range of techniques.  Finally you will consider how to identify aspects of one's own performance that were positive and aspects that can be improved upon.
